A quality machine manufactured by Reeds & Stuff of Germany, this machine creates a more accurate contour in a fraction of the time it takes to shape cane conventionally. Blades are easily resharpened on a basic sharpening stone, and shaping forms are easily interchangeable so that the same machine may be used for Oboe and English Horn. Templates are available in all RDG shapes (sold separately). In addition, the machine scores the piece of cane down the center, ensuring that both blades are perfectly symmetrical. As a testament to the quality and ease of use, we use this machine ourselves to produce our Superieure and Cote d’Azur gouged, shaped, and folded cane.
