Marigaux Oboes
The Marigaux name has always been synonymous with excellence, and Marigaux is now one of the leading pioneers of oboe design. The exceptional craftsmanship and consistently high standards of sound quality of these instruments have been making them an increasingly popular choice among professionals and advanced students alike.
For many years, the 901 model oboe has served as a wonderful choice for oboists desiring the Marigaux experience. In the last few years, Marigaux has added several new and interesting instruments to their professional oboe family. The 2001 model features redesigned, more ergonomic keywork to facilitate technique. The M2 oboe diverges from the traditional upper and lower joint structure. The main body of this instrument is all in one piece, which allows for improved tone hole placement. The top head joints can be interchanged according to climatic and pitch needs, and several other keywork modifications further enhance the playing experience. Recently, Marigaux has released another new and innovative instrument: the Altu Noir. This instrument features the keywork of a traditional 901 Marigaux oboe, but its body is made entirely of a very dense composite material, making it reliable in all types of playing conditions.
All of our Marigaux oboes come in a deluxe French fitted case with a fitted case cover, three reed case, swab, instrument stand, polishing cloth, grease box, and screwdriver. Marigaux instruments may be special ordered with a Violetwood body and/or 14k gold plated keywork.
