Model 2001 Oboe
The Marigaux 2001 model builds on the success of the traditional Marigaux oboe by retaining the warm sound of its predecessor while providing many innovative design enhancements. It features extended keys on the left hand, an adjustable thumb rest, and flattened right hand C, C#, and Eb keys to make sliding easier. The 2001 also has an adjustment screw to facilitate slurring to high D, much like the Philadelphia key that is commonly installed on Lorée instruments. Sound quality is improved in the low register with white leather pads underneath the B, C and D keys. The reed receiver and bell have been re-shaped. Gold plating of the reed receiver and posts adds attractiveness and sophistication to the appeal of this full conservatory system instrument, which is rapidly gaining popularity all over the world.
